Effect of biochar amendment and nitrogen fertilization on soil CO<sub>2</sub> emission during spring period

Abstract Biochar application to agriculture soil has been recommended as a strategy reduce increasing CO 2 emission in the atmosphere and mitigate climate change. In this study, we evaluated impact of two doses biochar (10 20 t.ha −1 ) applied 2014 reapplied 2018 combined with three fertilization levels (N0, N1, N2) on carbon dioxide emissions selected physical chemical properties field conditions during spring season (April–June) 2020. The site is situated Nitra region Slovakia (Malanta). was classified silt loam Haplic Luvisol. research it found that mostly all treatments decreased cumulative rage from 4.2% 30.4% compared controls (B0N0, B0N2), except where lower level N-fertilizer (N1) treatment B20N0. According our study results, confirmed can be promising material for improving properties. Mainly, very good pH, even after seven years experiment established. However, response fluxes were regulated mainly by length, rate, properties, giving new perspective more comprehensive understanding biochar.
